Benelli has generated more than 100 years of legendary 2-wheeled history, and no machine in our lineup better exemplifies this emotionally historic passion than Benelli’s all new – and thoroughly modern Leoncino model.
With their classic scrambler aesthetics, this bike recalls the easy-to-ride and lovable Leoncino (“lion cub” in Italian) model of the ’50s and ’60s but with modern technology throughout. It is fun, affordable and superbly functional.
This machine is powered by a thoroughly modern and durable liquid-cooled 500cc four stroke twin that features 48 horsepower (at 8500 rpm), wet-sump lubrication, electronic fuel injection, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, a clutch and a six-speed gearbox. The power is impressive, and easy to use, too.
The bike shares a frame and swingarm, as well, lightweight and strong steel-tube lattice designs that are both functional and beautiful to look at. Suspension is also basically the same, a laterally mounted and adjustable singleshock system in back, and a strong inverted fork up front – 45mm tubes and 4.9 inches of travel on the Leoncino.
The street-going Leoncino features street-oriented running gear, including 17-inch cast alloy wheels fitted with wide and sticky low-profile tires, and ultra-strong brakes comprised of 4-piston calipers grasping 320mm discs.
Additionally, the Leoncino features anti-lock braking, digital instrumentation, and LED headlight technology, all of which makes them truly high-end products – only at shockingly affordable prices. And at just 196 kg, the Leoncino is lighter than their scrambler competition.
Aesthetically, Leoncino model – penned by CentroStile Benelli of Italy – is visual knockouts, blending traditional shapes with modern curves and sublime surface finishes. And then there’s the Lion of Pesaro standing proudly on the front fender, just to remind you of the Benelli’s rich motorcycle history.
The all-new Leoncino represents an authentic and pure design concept, one that recalls the style and accessibility of the original machine of the ‘50s and ‘60s – all while delivering contemporary technology and performance. The Leoncino captures the original’s elemental style: Engine. Frame, Wheels. A handlebar. And a beautiful shape.
